Hippies Cry Over Dead Trees. I Cry With Laughter.

And so will you.

One could ask them if they cry over a dead tree (and not a very old one at that), then how do they react when eating a carrot?  Do they hold a funeral for every stalk of wheat destroyed for their own selfish ingestion?  What is their house made of?  Their clothes?  The stores they buy things in?  But then, it’s not like you can reason with people who wail over a tree stump.

And that, of course, is the problem.

It’s disturbing that they lament the industrial revolution as “getting away from our roots.”

As funny as all of this is, it’s also dangerous.  When, as I’ve written before, a group of people loses the ability to distinguish humanity as something special and apart from the rest of the natural world, they can justify anything done to other people in the name of whatever they have personally determined “The Greater Good” to be.

This is why our first principle must always be respect for each individual.  Only by keeping that value first can we protect ourselves- and future generations – from all-too permanent consequences of our fleeting notions of “The Greater Good.”

(By the way – if someone can show this video is imposters faking it to make hippies look bad, I’d love to know.  It seems too crazy even for hippies.)
