Liveblogging the State of the Union

Well, no big surprises.  He made the same promises that he made a year ago, and the only difference is that now we can be even more sure he won’t keep any of them.
The big takeaway from me on this was just how unserious this speech was.

What Nancy Pelosi Doesn’t Understand About the Townhall Protesters’ Intentions

August 10th, 2009 · 2 Comments

Nancy Pelosi’s article calling the Obamacare protesters “un-American” is, of course, ridiculous.  It is beyond parody.  If I wrote it word for word under her name as satire, I would be accused of straining hyperbole to beyond all limits and beyond.  Only slightly less absurd are the “factual” claims she makes in the piece.
But that’s [...]

Principles, Hypocrisy, and John Ensign

June 23rd, 2009 · 11 Comments

Obama’s Press Conference – Does He Really Believe the Garabage Coming Out Of His Mouth?

February 9th, 2009 · 3 Comments

I should have live-blogged this, so ripe it is with stupidity.  But here are some highlights as I sit a watch with increasing outrage and disbelief.

Obama claimed that the “Stimulus” bill is stripped of earmarks.  Really?  Are you kidding?  Sure – only if you get really creative with the language.  You can rename all the [...]

Partisanship Disguised as Non-Partisanship

January 25th, 2009 · 1 Comment

On Friday, President Obama predictably re-opened the funding sluice to abortions overseas.  Leaving aside the propriety of the federal government paying for abortions at all, much less people in foreign countries getting abortions, especially at a time when we don’t exactly have the extra ducats to throw around, Obama’s statement about the decision bothered me [...]
