This was a fun meeting:
John Ratzenberger was in Reno this week helping stump for McCain. He’s no adled, trivia spewing mailman. He’s clearly a sharp guy, and he has a lot of fire in his belly. He might not be in the A list, but I’m glad he’s on our side.
One person thanked him for coming, and he said, “Don’t thank me. I’m just trying to save my country.” He shook hands with all comers, and when he was done, he sat and signed autographs. He was still signing them when I left an hour later.
I saw him on Wednesday, and again on Friday. Wednesday, he’d been in Carson City that morning. Friday, he was apparently headed south again with jon Voight. It’s amazing how hard these guys really do work – all that traveling can’t be easy. It’s not like he has to be there. And for a conservative actor, this kind of work could be detrimental to any future career he may still want to have.
So thanks, John. We very much appreciate your efforts here in Nevada.
Cliff Claven. What a perfect mascot for John McCain – on so many levels.
Yes “Che,” because the characters actors play on TV translate into real life. Now why don’t you go find Frodo and the “one ring to rule them all.”
