Embattled Sen. Roland W. Burris’ legal and political problems deepened Tuesday as Democrats in Washington and Illinois signaled that they would support an investigation into whether the senator lied under oath about his appointment to the Illinois Senate seat.
So who would have thunk that a guy appointed by an impeached Chicago politician would be corrupt?
Oh, wait. I did. Told you so.
The only question is whether Burris’ proponents were really just that dumb, or if they willfully turned a blind eye to the obvious knowing they’d need his vote to get the stimulus passed.
I suppose nothing prevents it from being a little of both.
